Mrs. Ruth Helon Johnson England, age 87 of the Macedonia Community, passed away at 4:00am Sunday, July 10, 2022 at Life Care Center of Sparta.
Helon was born July 24, 1934 in the Center Point Community of White County to the late Lesel Holder & Anna Mae Luna Johnson. She grew up helping her daddy milk cows on the family farm. Since a young age, she has always been active in church and that led her in March of 1950 to a revival at Macedonia Baptist Church. It was at this revival that Helon met the love of her life when Mrs. Janie Ruth Price introduced her to Bransford England. After a two week whirlwind romance, Bransford whisked her away to Ringold, Georgia where they were married at the home of Judge J.E. French on March 23, 1950 witnessed by Joe Walker and J.C. “Squirrel” Johnson.
They began their life together in the Macedonia Community where they raised three rambunctious boys Joe, H.L. and Gerald. Helon continued her work on the farm however, now it was alongside her husband on their farm. She also supported Bransford in his ministry of the Lord. She always had enormous faith and love of the Lord. Helon gave selflessly and was active in her community, family and most of all her church. She was always there to lend a a hand to anyone in need. She helped care for and raise numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a faithful wife, a loving mother, grandmother and a devout child of God. She helped create a legacy that includes three children, ten grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband of 69 years Floyd Bransford England who died July 19, 2019; son and daughter-in-law H.L. & Rita England; granddaughter Tammy England; sister Dimple Boyd; brother Burgess Johnson.
