With deep sorrow and boundless love, we announce the passing of Henry “Buck” Brown on Monday, August 4, 2025, at the age of 81.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a faithful follower of Jesus, Buck lived a life that was simple yet rich – rooted in faith, family, and the satisfaction of honest work.
Born on October 21, 1943, in Sparta, Tennessee, to Guy and Walkey Cole Brown, Buck grew up on the farm he would always call home. He was the loving husband of Wanda Gray Brown and a member of Lansden Church of Christ. Buck worked at the shirt factory and later retired from Wagner, but his truest work was done in the quiet corners of his farm, where every fence post bore the unmistakable mark of a man who could fix anything. Buck was a master tinkerer, a brilliant thinker, and the kind of person who could “rig” a solution out of nothing more than a bit of wire and faith.
Buck’s life was a testimony to what it means to walk humbly with God. To his family, he was a cornerstone – the kind of man who listened more than he spoke. But when he spoke, his words carried weight. Buck found joy in the simple things like picking his guitar, piddling around the farm, and spending time with the people he loved. He believed in hard work, in doing right by others, and in the power of prayer.
He is survived by a loving family who adored him:
His wife of 62 years, Wanda Brown of Sparta.
Daughters, Angie (Brian) Montgomery and Teresa (Greg) McCaskey.
Grandchildren, Britton (Brandi) Smith, Dakota Hodges, Maci (CD) Hindenburger, and Ty McCaskey.

Special Nieces, Rhonda Robinson, Tonia Wilson, and Shawna Brown.
Nephew: James Guy (Diona) Brown.
